Central Test’s RD department is composed of a team of occupational psychologists, psychometricians, researchers and project managers, devoted to the creation and revision of psychometric tests according to strict psychometric standards. The RD team is also in charge of conducting trainings and other consulting services for the users/clients.

Role description

You will be joining Central Test’s RD department, and contributing to a variety of tasks, including, but not limited to: 

  • Test development and revision
  • Statistical validation and running of validity studies for various tools
  • Writing and revision of manuals for various tools
  • Managing the statistical and linguistic translation/adaptation into other languages
  • Implementation of tests in Central Test’s online platform 
  • Review statistical results for accuracy
  • Quality control on Central Test’s platform, including standardisation and scoring
  • Client support and training on a need basis
  • Contribution to other projects on a need basis
  • Research into new statistical method (IRT, ML, NLP) and software (R and M+) 


  • You have a postgraduate degree ethods, differential psychology, psychometrics or occupational psychology.

Your experience and skills:

  • This job position is open to all levels therefore no prior experience in psychometrics is required, however, the role requires good skills and knowledge in research and statistics, and familiarity with statistics software..
  • Knowledge of classical test theory (CTT) and item response theory (IRT) in test design and analysis is a plus. You will serve as a resource person for statistical analysis and will be asked to present research results within the organisation and during academic, commercial or educational presentations, which requires strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to explain complex technical issues and statistics to non-scientific audiences.
  • Good writing skills, good communication skills, creativity, and the ability to work both independently and in a team are a must. Additionally, good organisational skills, and the ability to multitask and prioritise are essential for this position.
  • Moreover, the ability to work with a diversity of people and adapt to an international environment is a must, which includes working collaboratively with other departments and branches outside of the UK. Central Test is a multicultural company and therefore fluency in another language is a big plus, especially in Spanish, German or French.
